The Effect of Recruitment and Selection Process on Employees’ Performance


Generally recruitment &selection process is constructed to attract and hire the right candidates for the vacancy who is having ability to perform in given task.
 Recruitment & selection process is vital when attracting & obtaining suitable candidates for the organization in order to achieve firm’s goals & objectives. (Armstrong, 2006).Effective of this process determine that right person in right position at right package.
Recruitment is analyzing the job requirement and attracting candidates for the selection process and selection process is screening the applicants and selecting suitable candidates for the vacant position.

External Factors:

1. Supply and demand

2. Labor market

3. Image / Goodwill

4. Political/Social/Legal/Environment.

5. Unemployment rate

6. Competitors

Impartiality of recruitment employees and hiring an employee based on kinship and relativeness must be minimized in order to create the effectiveness.

Integrity, honesty, reliability toward to job responsibility are key factors on Employees performance.

If the organization is having effective recruitment & selection process, above facts will be measured properly before the selection. If recruitment & selection process is manipulated in favor of someone, Particular employee may not be able to perform well. Also no Independency take place.
Such situation will be effected to the organization performance as well. (Adu Darkoh, 2014)

Therefore this could be concluded with confirming that there is significant impact on employees’ performance over the effective recruitment & selection process.

  4. Recruitment and selection are the two phases of the employment process but there is a difference between them. The word recruitment has become a thing of concern to many organization in order to get a rightful candidate that can effectively fill the vacant position in the organization due to the increase in competitions. The recruitment process is immediately followed by the selection process, where the final interviewers and the decision makers makes the decision and the official appointment.
